Multi-talented baby boomer, Sid Korpi

20 03 2012

Sid Korpi's 50th birthday

Sid Korpi, film and stage actress, social dance instructor, and pet chaplain, is far too talented and accomplished for this author to take credit for anything more than being an inspiration and catalyst for her recent weight loss, something she’d wanted to do for a long time. That’s good enough for me. Already athletic, fit, and beautiful, Sid became inspired after reading Thinking Skinnyand decided to get healthier still. Losing those extra pounds gave her the edge she needed to pursue a film career with creative Minneapolis filmmaker, Christopher R. Mihm. I might also add that the same is true of the content in this article. Other than my questions, the words are Sid’s, and I would be remiss if I didn’t credit her as being co-author of this article. She is, in addition to the talents listed above, a gifted author and editor. I recently had a private interview with Sid, and this is how it went: Continue reading on Examiner.com

Debbie Johnson: new film with Bob Proctor

23 04 2011

Debbie Johnson, is the best-selling author of THINK YOURSELF THIN (and five other books). She is a respected success trainer and has appeared on national network television shows such as The Carol and Marilyn Show and The Other Side. Debbie wrote THINK YOURSELF THIN after losing 40 pounds without special diets or exercise regimens. She has kept the weight off for over 25 years, strictly using “thinking thin” techniques.

Debbie developed a special technique all her own that she terms “focused imagination.” Her background in education, psychology, sales and spiritual studies gave her the raw materials she needed to come to the realization that fat is only as firm as the imagination believes it to be! Her key point is that the imagination controls the subconscious and the subconscious controls all major glands and functions. Thus, we can control weight via the imagination. MORE…

Becky Henry talks about eating disorders

19 12 2010

My guest Becky Henry,  is passionately committed to the empowerment of women and girls.  She believes that true healing comes from love and compassion, and has been a source of strength to countless families living with eating disorders.

Her clients say that the coaching services they were provided, gave them a safe nurturing place to be heard, receive answers and comfort while bringing them out of the dark woods of caring for someone with an eating disorder, to connect with their strength, and save financial resources while reclaiming their lives.

Becky Henry, CPCC, became an “unwilling expert,” as she and her family went down that challenging road that is an eating disorder.  They quickly learned that often a family’s sweet daughter “disappears,” as her body is taken over by the eating disorder’s strong and powerful hold on her mind.
